I have come to believe that the Fibernet computer is programmed to ignore or
alter 'non standard' characters in the message bodies to prevent malicious
virus, etc. from being able to spread or run on list member's computers. I
do not know of any malicious action that can be initiated from the subject
line so it *should* be safe.

I know for a fact that the following symbol (the cents symbol) rendered
correctly on the SheepThrills list last year. So let's try it here:

--> " <-- This was/is the cents symbol in Arial (font type) .

I obtained the symbol by going to a word processing program, open a new
page, and then using the "Insert" then "Symbol" then Arial font... then
select the symbol, then copy the symbol from the work page and pasted it
into this message. "Arial" font is supposed to be common to almost all
computers so they should all be able to display it.
