I used a syringe to measure 6 ml of olive oil and 6 ml of water and sprinkled
it over a little more fiber than he specified--45 grams instead of 40. ....
ended up with more tangles and messed up fibers than I ever had with my old method
of occasionally spritzing the fiber with water if needed to control
static. ...
Half and half water and oil sounds like an awfully heavy solution to me.
I wonder why the author suggested such a heavy concentration. Was he
perhaps dealing with fiber that had been scrubbed so hard it had dried
out completely, or was there some other circumstance that would require
an unusually dense concentration of oil?
Maybe to make that method work, you'd need to be following his
instructions, word-for-word, from the beginning of the book to the end
(gasp - I can't imagine doing that, personally <g>).
