The auxiliary hard drive attached to my old computer just crashed. That is, if it is turned on, I can't get a desktop to appear, even if I boot from a CD. I backed the thing up 2 days ago, so info loss is not a problem, but I suspect there is nothing more wrong here than a simple software glitch that I might be able to fix if I could get the volume to mount. Any suggestions?
