Because the alterations of line thickness, slurs, ties, and the other 
built-in functions of the program are adjustable by everybody who uses 
the programs and are an accurate reflection of how usable the program is.

The use of any specific font is limited only to those who might have 
that font, so the competition isn't between software but rather more 
between the depth of add-ons individuals might have.

And then it becomes a competition between engravers rather than a 
competition between engraving software.

Which is fine, if that is what is desired, but it should be made clear 
what type of competition this would be before it begins.

And the use of additional page-layout programs should be allowed as 
well, since we would no longer be limiting ourselves to the default 
installation of the engraving software.
