It's more motion efficient to navigate using the arrow keys in 
combination with Command or Option keys because of the physical layout 
of the keyboard (standard keyboards that is). Also there is a much 
better logical continuity from using the Arrow keys alone to deal with 
document navigation/selection because all the functionality is assigned 
to the same keyboard area.
