[Joel Sears:]

>I've heard about this scam on the radio.

I've received dozens of variants of this - amazing, the number of people in
Nigeria, including highly-placed business people and ex-politicians, who
implicitly trust me with millions of dollars.
I wonder whether anyone actually falls for this and gets fleeced. It must
work sometimes, or else surely they wouldn't keep doing it.

>The bad thing about a list is that
>this guy can deliver this scam to a lot of people at one time.

Well, it might foil them if this list were set to accept messages only from
subscribers. I am on other lists that don't allow non-subscribers to post. How
about it, Henry? (And perhaps a filter to remove H.T.M.L. code, leaving just
the bare text, while we're about it - and maybe attachments, too (unless list
members want attachments to be postable on rare occasions when there is a
justification for doing so).)

                         Regards,
                          Michael Edwards.
