About a decade ago a poll of dozens of top rock critics and scholars voted it the worst rock song ever written. I mostly know the song from the Weird Al Yankovic parody ("Jurassic Park is frightening in the dark"), but it seems to me that the serious antipathy it attracted for some 20 years had more to do w. the circumstances of its creation, and its creator, than the music itself.
