I think you're absolutely right about that with respect to the community at large -- and I would add as another example the structure vs design wars for HTML coding -- but one of the things I like about the Finale list is that a debate like this can remain reasonably civil and objective. My debate with Aaron is a perfectly example. I don't think either of us has a great personal attachment to one way or another, and we don't disagree about the facts of what is considered standard or "correct", yet we can still vigorously debate whether the "correct" policy is good policy and whether the rationale advanced for it is logical.
