According to the standards of Western music notation, yes, it is wrong. I'm not saying an editor should have changed it, I'm not saying we should make fun of Bartok, I'm not calling him stupid or making a value judgment. But I would still call it wrong. Bartok chose to write the key signature the wrong way.

First of all, I didn't imply that there is only one way to write key sigs. What I basically said was that in our commonly accepted system there is one *right* way. And second, this is the second time in as many weeks that a list member has chosen to belittle me personally, and I resent it.
