You mean, just like if they hadn't bothered to challenge me in the first place?
But it's happening because the user hasn't configured the service correctly, not because of something inherently wrong with challenge/response systems.
There is an inherent problem with these systems quite separate from the congiuration - they're REALLY BLOODY ANNOYING!! And if they're set up to automatically challenge everything, then that's a second inherent flaw, that they don't take into account the realities of email traffic.
And I have news for those of you who ignore them: you'll eventually be on an island all by yourself, with no email correspondents except spammers.
