Another thing, (Sorry, I'm on a roll here.)
Weirdly, the sample file in Sibelius that highlights the Dynamic Parts feature (an alto sax concerto by Richard Payne) also highlights a potential snag in the feature in the very first measure.
Flutes 1 & 2 have an 8va marking (to avoid collision with the piccolo staff above).
I personally would *not* want the 8va marking in the parts -- it only goes up to G6 (four ledger lines above the staff), so I'd want to write that at pitch. But there's no way to change the Dynamic Part without also changing the score, or breaking the live link between the two.
I think all of this just goes to show that Dynamic Parts is a complicated issue. Sibelius has made an excellent start, but there's definitely room for Finale to surpass them, if they are willing to make Dynamic Parts as much of a priority as Human Playback has been.
I think after Fin2k6 is released, it's time to start flooding Coda with feature requests for Dynamic Parts.
