This would really ask for a (welcome) re-thinking of how Finale handles
information -- part-based rather than measure/staff based.

This has been discussed before, but it basically means tagging what
constitutes a part. A part is a player or a voice, and no matter where the
part goes, the tag follows it. Extraction then pulls the parts out by their
tags, and not by what staff they might be on at the moment, or if they're
tacit for a movement, or if they're running a2 for a while, or if they're
up/down stems, or homophonic, or contrapuntal.
