Let me clarify, at least for myself - and I'm sorry if I was unclear at any
point.

I was able to go to the *backup copy made when I last saved* and was
fortunate enough to lose virtually nothing.  I found no way to retrieve the
lost data in my original file.  The undos I did trying to rectify the
problem (immediately after I noticed it) went up to and beyond the point in
time the problem occurred and never brought back the stricken data.

I read Darcy as saying same.  Say the word and I'll send you A) the file
including all the data I had in it before the bug bit, and B) the file
stripped of all the data which was removed by the bug.
