Subject: Re: [Finale] data-destroying bug, I've been bitten!
Question is: was the lesson quit and restart Finale often, empty temp
file folder often, or both?
In my case, Chuck, because on Windows the "deleting temp files on exit" bug
has been known about for ever (but not until recently acknowledged by
Coda/MM) the answer is both. I wouldn't recommend deleting the temp files
whilst Finale is running, at least unless I had saved and closed every file,
but that still feels risky.
In any case, this seems unusually buggy 2006 behavior, and MM should
address it (among other things), but if the cure is this simple, at least
we can control it.
Yes, if you can get them to acknowledge it. Unlike the users, I don't think
they as developers use the program for long enough periods to generate an
appreciable accumulation of temp files.
Glad your machine is back to normal
Peter
