Thanks! I'm really glad that you responded with this. I have a
friend who uses MTP/AV and is having this same issue as Mike. As a
work around for now, we have set up two different AMS configurations;
one for DP/Giga Studio and one for Finale. She has to go between
the two setups when she works in Finale. This is a bit of a hassle
but it works. I don't think the MTP/AV is the problem. She is using
an older keyboard so I'm thinking the problem might have something to
do with the keyboard as I have no problems with my setup (828 mkII
and Midi Express XT also using DP and Finale and Keystation Pro 88)
and as you have said, you have no probs with yours. I'm wondering if
setting up the ports manually might help get around keyboard/driver
issues with Finale.
My question for you is, have you customized your setup in AMS? Have
you actually set up each port for your MTP (added them in the Ports
window) I haven't actually gotten to sit down at her studio yet to
really look into it. But I would love to hear what you or anyone
else on the list has to say about manually setting up Ports in AMS.
There is very little documentation that I have found on this subject!

This shouldn't matter, in my experiences, tho. I actually do this all
the time, running FinMac and DP at the same time, and switching
back and
forth. My interface is MOTU MTP/AV USB, and it has never lost
communication with the host.
On the other hand, I hear M-Audio USB MIDI driver issues on the net
often.
