For that single 8th note, put all the notes on a single stem in layer 1,
like a chord. In the other layers, put in an eighth rest and hide it so
it doesn't display.
Or you may find that it looks better to leave the notes in separate
layers, with stems in different directions. It is not always true that a
single stem is best when rhythms are the same.
Aaron.
I'd follow Aaron's suggestion to put the 8th all in layer 1, which will
make the appearance just what you want. I've found that you can leave
that final 8th rest out of the other layers without any problems.
If you want to leave the notes in their respective layers, flipping the
stems to all go the same direction, you can use the Special Tools to
lengthen the stem so the flags will all sit atop each other, giving the
appearance of a single flag. I'd suggest working at a magnification of
at least 200% when you do this in order to get a better alignment of the
flags.
