Yes, Eric, the first saxes seem to be edgier, perhaps to be used for lead lines?...I used the second and third alto, the second tenor and bari, and the second bass, all "light" to save space and because I didn't need (or better--didn't want to mess with) any of the special programming.

I dunno. Depends on which ones you use. The 1st ones seem to have a lot
of edge, but the 2nd and 3rd ones have less. Those seem to blend a
little better for concert band stuff.
But, hopefully, the forthcoming Garritan collection will feature sampled
classical saxophones, cause there is a huge difference in tone, vibrato,
etc....

The JABB saxes seem to me a bit edgy for concert band work, or I
didn't take enough programming time to fix the sound.
