There is a little utility called PopChar by Ergonis software ($15, I
think) that comes in PC and Mac versions that I find handy for this
purpose. It puts a little tab in the menu bar that accesses the font
chart for any installed font. Every once in a while, I need to
create something I've forgotten in Finale, or I need an umlaut or
French accent. This makes those things easy.
