Since you brought this over from another computer, first double-check that the Finale 2009 plug-ins folder is pointing where it should be, and that all the plug-in files are in that folder and its subfolders. If that checks out, it sounds like something has gone wrong with Launch Services on your Mac. I would recommend rebuilding the launchd database. You can do this via the Terminal or with a downloadable tool like OnyX.
