I realize that I can use the eraser tool to manually erase the markings, however, in this particular case it would indeed be a lot easier to erase them in the source, rather than to use Photoshop for this.
I was actually hoping to find a toll which could distinguish (by colour I guess) the pencil markings from the print, and simply take them out for me. If that is not possible I will have to clean them before I scan them.
