Dear Darcy,

As usual, you respond to these pleas with useful information. I'd call you and
Christopher (and a few others) "my saviors", but that starts to sound
quasi-religious and overly emotional. Nevertheless, I am grateful for the time
you take to help make things clear. It is obvious that you take some trouble
to help solve these problems.

First: the Alternate Notation problem is solved. Choosing the music characters
did the trick. I had not encountered that situation in earlier upgrades so
didn't know where to look for that.

I have now done considerable work in converting Finale's Jazz Band Template
(created with the Wizard) and am reluctant to abandon it. Is there any reason
why I couldn't save a document style from this template when I have finished
the work on it?

One more problem: I have imported custom expressions, articulations and staff
styles - all successfully, but when I try to import my carefully created smart
shape library (full of Bill's things), the file manager reports an error and it
doesn't import. Ideas on that one?

The usual thanks,

Chuck
