Well, this is a new "clean" 2012 document - created with the 2012 Wizard, so I 
don't think there is any reason to think there's inherited crud.  It is exactly 
for that reason (my 2011 templates were created from imports of imports and 
therefor more than likely to have problems hidden in them) - that, and the 
expectation that a document created with the Wizard in 2012 will have correctly 
set up instruments - without much fussing in that department.

I've already noticed a few new things and kept them in libraries before 
deleting things I don't want and importing elements form 2011 libraries.
