a bit of fudging, but the best solution i have found is the trill
note as upper (or loewr if needed) note of a chord, then manually
dragged right (after reducing to 80%). also have to drag acci.
again, lots of piddling but i write the settings down for H pos
changes, so they are quicker next time i need it. survives all sorts
of things like respacing etc.

i sometimes use left and right parentheses as robert mentioned as
well but mostly for square brackets, because the individual position
is more varied in the work i do than for round ones. i also have 2
or 3 texts set up in the doc that include LR round with 2 or 3 spaces
between them, one that works on most notes with accis and another
slightly wider. create one, with right alignment to right of note,
copy, add more space between the parenhese to account for more
left-side objects and the positioning is already right.

auto-positioning set to top note and H pos an amount that takes into
account accis (using # on notehead on ledger line as reference, works
for most cases). immediately after applying, clear positioning
(there are only some pos settings that work 100%) and nudge as needed.

yeah.
