I tried...   The scroll view radio button was 
greyed out.   It did a respace, I guess, but everything is just the same.

I'm pretty sure I have never used staff styles, 
as I  don't really understand what they 
do...  I'm new at this, and the program has a lot to learn!

I think this is the first piece I have tried to 
do the hide empty staves thing, so it is possible 
I did something wrong somewhere.  Like I said 
though, this particular piece is just acting very 
strangely.  I don't know if I have found a bug, 
or just screwed something up through user error.

I have to re-install windows this weekend to sort 
out a non-related issue, but once that is done, I 
think I will re-import this piece and try again 
from scratch.  I could use the practice!
