Trying to work this out. So how does it happen that no playback is involved, the piano sound as controlled by the MIDI Keyboard starts at a normal volume, then a few notes later decides to drop to nearly nothing. No playback signal - nothing I can think of that would do this. And I haven’t touched the volume slider on the keyboard. Sliding the volume up restores the volume momentarily, but it doesn’t stick. > So the playback machine gets a message, either from a previous playback or > from a controller on your keyboard (like the pitch wheel) and then it affects > everything that comes out of it on that channel until it is told otherwise. > > On my controller, the pitch wheel doesn't have a spring on it to bring it > back to zero, so if I nudge it accidentally or put a book on it and it moves, > I get all kinds of strange pitch problems until I figure out what I did. Same here, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem either. A new keyboard changed nothing, to that leads me to believe this is happening within Finale, or the Aria player. I will replace the preferences the morning and see if that changes anything.
