Download the file by hand from wherever you can find it. The exact 
file name must have been mentioned by fink when it tried to 
download it. Then do a google search on the filename, or look 
around on the original site, or look on 
http://fink.sf.net/bindist/sources. When you have the file, place 
it into /sw/src/ and rerun "fink install ...".

Yes, the package maintainer.

"fink info slang" tells you the name and address of the maintainer. 
And while they try their best to be omniscient, they might 
sometimes appreciate a little help :-)
