system-xfree86 is there for this very situation. It doesn't install files.

sumo is really huge. It contains *all* packages that exist. Normally you
don't want to install all of them (I mean, who uses calc, gnus, w3?)
Once you have -efs, you can download all the other packages from inside
XEmacs.
