Hi,

I am still experiencing this black-icon problem in
GNOME... According to the fink-FAQ:

http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/x11/trouble.php#black

this should not appear, when installing the latest
versions of XFree86 and GNOME via fink -- or am I
getting something wrong there?
What I did is: I built XFree86 4.2 from source using
fink (base+rootless), then I issued the command "fink
install bundle-gnome". Everything seemed to be fine.

The problems I have are:
1. The obviously well-known "black-icon-problem"
2. a crashing desktop preference pane in the GNOME
control center
(3. GNOME is also complaining about a bunch (long
list!) of missing .png files during startup -- could
that have something to do with the missing icons in
the lower toolbar?)

I am considering deinstalling GNOME if this problem
persists -- would I still be able to use gnumeric
without GNOME or is it depending on any of its
libraries?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andreas
