Alex (and the list),

I followed your advice and have these XFree86 packages installed:

 i      xfree86-base            4.2.1.1-18      XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients
and data
 i      xfree86-base-dev        4.2.1.1-18      Placeholder for X11 dev packages,
version 4.2
 i      xfree86-base-shlibs     4.2.1.1-18      XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients
and data
 i      xfree86-rootless        4.2.1.1-18      XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients
and data
 i      xfree86-rootless-shlibs 4.2.1.1-18      XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients
and data

Is the above combination is what I should have?

Here's why I ask -- When I start OroborOSX it complains, "OroborOSX has failed to
launch XDarwin!"
When I try starting XDarwin.app directly it asks me if I would like to run Full Screen
or Rootless.
When I choose Rootless it runs a little more then quits. When I start Full Screen I
get a startup
window then XDarwin exits.

I have gone to the OroborOSX FAQs and have done the troubleshooting they recommended.
I did think
of a few things to try on my own. Here's what I see when I look in /usr/X11R6/bin:

   [mogwai:~] jbreazeale% cd /usr/X11R6/bin
   [mogwai:/usr/X11R6/bin] jbreazeale% ls -l X*
   lrwxr-xr-x    1 root     admin          14 Mar  4 22:22 X -> XDarwinStartup
   -rwxr-xr-x    1 root     unknown   3432688 Mar  4 06:03 XDarwin
   lrwxr-xr-x    1 root     admin          48 Mar  4 22:22 XDarwinQuartz ->
/Applications/XDarwin.app/Contents/MacOS/XDarwin
   -rwxr-xr-x    1 root     unknown     16032 Mar  4 06:04 XDarwinStartup
    .  .  .
   [mogwai:/usr/X11R6/bin] jbreazeale%

When I try starting X on the command line I see the following:

   mogwai:/usr/X11R6/bin] jbreazeale% X&
   [1] 617
   [mogwai:/usr/X11R6/bin] jbreazeale%

Perhaps some of the above is hint?!

Thank you,
