Hmmmm, strange....... in my home directory, there is no ".xinitrc" file. Why ?
I thought that the first time X is run and quit properly, the ".xinitrc" file gets written to the user's home directory.


Maybe that is my problem. X may not be very smart.

Are you set up to see invisible files?
