I said "not all apps are intended to be run by the user".  They're run
by other apps.

Also, a fair number of the application packages in Fink don't do
anything special under X11 because they're command-line apps.

X11 window managers don't really work that way, normally. They generally
fail if another one is running.

Though the current version of metacity can do that if you use

metacity --replace &

in your X11 terminal window.

Without knowing what you have installed, it's essentially impossible for
me to give an answer for your system.  A fair number of the packages you
have from the "base" section have programs, but they're all command-line
based.

GUI apps work like mozilla, which you already have.  You type the
program name into an X11 terminal window, and they open.

Pick something that sounds interesting, and I'll tell you what to run.
