I didn't find Gimp-Print on any of the lists. Gimp-Print is the ideal
completion of CUPS. It can act as a raster driver using CUPS-raster as
its input, spitting out printer-specific data. There are currently
120 models directly supported (which according to Linuxprinting.org is
in reality more than 300 due to the emulations some of them are able to
perform.) Especially on Epsons there is a Photo-like quality to be
achieved which is on par or superior to the output of native Epson
drivers made for Windows.

During Linuxtag we hope to greatly improve the quality for the Canon
printers, while a Gimp-Print developer is there, who has not had access
to the latest models for testing and tuning and there he will....
