Max, Considering that I was only accused of not notifying other maintainers on commits rather than any error in packaging, I find your demand that I go through a full review process (satisfying all developers involved) to be extremely high-handed. This weekend I wasted a complete day on the following change...
1) Original code Installed info files in %/share/info and only distributed with gcc4x package 2) Revised code Installed info files in %p/lib/gcc4.x/info and resort to update-alternatives to symlink these in a post install script. The net difference? The gcc4x-compiler package contains *unindexed* info files in %p/lib/gcc4.x/info. So only users who realize that info can invoke the complete path can acccess that info file. Is that really worth my weekend? Apparently you think so. Hope you had a nice one, as I certainly didn't. Without commit rights, I am at the whim of any fink developer who has an axe to grind on the packaging. There isn't enough hours in the day for that. We have far more pressing things to fix (like trying to fix gcj java compilation for gcc45 under 10.4/10.5). No, you would rather I squander my time on playing at Debian. No thanks.
