I posted the fix already - I think I was not clear. The fix for users IS 
to do "sudo dpkg -r --forcedepends system-libgl". When i said "that 
doesn't solve the problem" i meant it doesn't solve the root cause, 
which is an error in the info files. It DOES cure the symptoms and lets 
you upgrade your xfree86.
