Ahh, ok, thanks. So when the regular "fink remove system-libgl" fails with complaints that like a dozen other packages depend on system-libgl, this dpkg trick will work in a roughly nondisruptive way? Something else that provides 'libgl' will be re-installed from the new system-xfree86? This solution sounds possibly destructive, so I just want to be sure.
