This continues to be problematic. I had some errors from French
localization, but they didn't prevent the build from finishing.

Other things that users have tried were posted on this list and on
fink-beginners.

These warnings _are_ mentioned in the FAQ.  They're harmless.

No, because you can't compile against system-xfree86--it's just a
placeholder to an existing XFree86 installation.  Can you provide an
example?  This may actually be easy to clear up
