1. I think it would be great if Fink *would* offer a ppc GNU/Linux (or GNU/Darwin) distro, combined with tools that would de-install OS X. Fink should facilitate the transition to a wholly free software system.
1a. Fink should run under GNU/Linux (or GNU/Darwin).
2. Fink should work on developing a better dependency-finding software system, specifically, a system that will track dependencies at the compile-time option level.
3. Software development as in (1) and (2) could potentially be expensive. Fink should have the means to hire people to work on these tasks if necessary.
Dude, really, what you want is not Fink, and is nowhere near what we do. I've already migrated to a distribution, it's called "Fink on Mac OS X".
If you want to make such a project, go for it, but there's no way I'm going to work on a project to migrate from the OS of my choice -- the OS Fink was designed for. If you want to make Fink more portable to other OSes, great! We'll happily accept your patches.
