This is true for the case of using shared libraries. I found this when I had an 
updated and more complete installation of m17n-lib in /usr/local. While the 
Apple GCC had no problems to find the proper files the system was able to find 
the wrong libraries... But GCC is a tool like a keyboard (built-in, connected 
via USB or Bluetooth) or pencil, it's no shared library "plugged" into some 
programme.

OK, I'll build and install a 64-bit GCC 4.6 with MacPorts and shall have then a 
Fink Emacs and MacPorts Emacs variety...
