First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I also found that it dies when I turn on the headlights. I took off the alternator and had it tested. The store said it was bad. I installed a new one but it's doing the same thing. I'm thinking of replacing the voltage regulator next, does that make sense? I've checked the wires between the alternator and they check out fine.
Brian First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ........................................................................ . Try pulling all the bulbs and try again. If it still dies, its definitely a short and not a draw problem. If thats the case, my best luck has been a good shop light, a screwdriver, and visualise every inch of the wire, plugs and switches. A volt meter at this point is only going to confirm a short, not tell you where it is. Just out of curiosity, does it die when you turn on the hazards? that might further help you narrow down the location of the short. If it doesn't die with the hazards, the short will be up under the dash and not downstream somewhere. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Submissions to Firebird-L: <[email protected]> Unsubscribe from Firebird-L: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Help: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/firebird/Firebird-L.html> Classifieds: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/ubb/> Owner Pictures: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/show/> Donations: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/store/cart.mv?999999> FGF Merchandise: <http://FirstGenFirebird.org/store>
