Sounds like the starter solenoid is sticking on. You can try CPR (carefully placed rap) on the solenoid when it's stuck but it would probably be better to replace it.

My 67 sat for a long time so i jump started it, ran it for a while, took it around the block but it wouldnt restart once i shut it off. Even the horn just clicks. With jumper cables on, the horn still just clicks. The starter soneniod seems to stick on after the starter motor barely turns. There is a big draw on the cables after i try to start it , even with the key off. Once i disconnect the cables i can hear the starter solenoid unclick. and the draw on the cables is gone once reconnected again. Does it sound like the starter needs to be replaced?Seems like a short in the solenoid or something. Im hoping a new starter fixes the problem, any other ideas?
