Gerrit,
I know Ice cubes are a scarcity in Europe, (lol), but bring a cooler
with beer or soft drinks , pack them in ice ,and you can use the ice
water to cool it down with...just pour some on...

I have the same problem and suspect the heat buildup in the starter. I
now try to plan my trips so that there's one stop at the beginning for
the gas, a long stop at the destination and then I'm ok when I have to
go back.

Now I have a theory; I haven't needed this yet so I don't know if this
works, but I also have a can of brake cleaner in the trunk. Whenever I
have this problem again I'll try to spray lots of cleaner on the starter
solenoid to cool it - It does feel a bit silly because I should just
fix the starter problem but it's not 'tooling weather' yet....

................................nected again. Does it sound like the
starter needs to be replaced?Seems like a short in the solenoid or
something. Im hoping a new starter fixes the problem, any other ideas?
