Ive helped many people in the past at gas stations with CPR performed with a
squeegie. Good emergency fix but i dont want to deal with it in the real
world. Nothing worse than having a nice looking car with the hood up because
it wont work. . I just wanted to test my trouble shooting skills before i
did any actual "work".
This list is always good for getting several different takes on the right
answer.

Sounds like the starter solenoid is sticking on. You can try CPR
(carefully placed rap) on the solenoid when it's stuck but it would
probably be better to replace it.
