I could have just bought the pre-assembled new ones if I wanted to pay that price and do some of the work but I figured I'd just let the shop do it and they priced it with the labor to do the work with "parts" but when I got thet car back they have used (and charged me for) the fully assembled, higher cost, a-arms. And kept the labor cost the same. Last time I went there. That's one reason I hate having a "shop" work on my cars.

If they didn't beat on your parts with a hammer, you got a fair price. A friend of mine brought his loose parts to the Dodge dealer in 1979 to have bushings pressed in/out/in and they charged him for the price of the job from the flat rate book as though he left his car of in the shop for the repairs! Once they had his parts in their grubby hands, all he could do was pay. No arguing at the window helped. I would worry more about how your repair is accomplished than the cost. If they did a correct job, you paid a fair price.
