First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... Thanks for the help guys. I use a compressor for my "toys" a couple of evenings a week and sometimes on Saturday. What I'm hearing here is that I'd be better off to pass on the $500 range units and buy a bigger one. I like the idea of a two-stage compressor but it will postpone my purchase and my progress. I definitely want a case iron pump versus the aluminum pump with sleeves. For a hobby guy like myself, should the one-stage vs. two-stage be a determining factor? Ronnie In a message dated 6/5/2008 10:21:34 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... In the end, I went with a Craftsman 80-gallon, 5.5 hp, dual stage, cast iron pump for about $850. The Ingersol with the same specs is suppose to be a little better quality but I have not had any issues with mine and Sears has never let me down on service. I had a 60-gallon with aluminum pump and had lots of problems with the head gasket. Sears let me "grade-up" to the 80-gallon since I did it within the 3-month satisfaction guarantee period. If you are painting your car, you will need the 80-gal/5+ hp. Sheen > Hi Guys,> > I saw discussion of air compressors some time back but I wasn't in the > market then. I need some input.
