Hey Don,

I'm sure your aware that the gears are different from Chev to Pontiac
due to opposite rotation firing order but as far as I know poncho
distributors fit throughout the years with the odd exception.  

I used a HEI from a 77 Formula in my 68.  The problem was clearance
between the firewall and cap.  I had to do some modifications.

They make a really nice after market HEI that looks like the factory
style or you can go with the Pertronics and convert your original.

The distributor gears are all the same on Chevy small and big block.
