First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I've seen similar problems when the wrong bulb has been put in the socket. Some bulbs may look similar, but can cause the socket to ground out. Also, the contacts in the socket could be twisted or bent and causing trouble.
Just some more things to look at. I have this same problem, and yes, pulling the lamp socket from the bracket causes the lights to go out. However, this doesn't "fix" the problem. What is the trick to fix these lights so they can stay in the brackets where they belong yet not stay on all the time?
