First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................

I have a little experience with a 350 two barrel.

I found that a new chain and gears (TRW) (I used a double roller), a valve
grind, and a new (I used double) valve springs will keep the add-ons hit their
performance goals.

Probably outdated now but I added Sig Erson's TQ20 cam which touched the whole
project off.

This provided a nice crisp open and closing of the valves (correct efficiency)
plus a little extra lift and modified timing.

Later I had to drill and tap the outer holes on the heads becuase my stock
exhaust manifolds did not have outer bolts (machine shop work that I provided
an exhaust gasket for a template, probably want to have done with valve grind)
to fit a set of headers, an Edlebrock performer aluminum intake manifold and a
holly 650.

I had a ton of fun with this upper remodel.

Hope that helps with your considerations.
Ron
