I've done 2 Pontiac engines with the rope seal and they ran great without
leaks. It's been a very long time since I did a rope seal, but as I recall,
the key is cutting small amounts at a time in making it fit.

Hello,
I have just got my engine back from the machinist and I purchased the viton
seal and it DID not fit. After much discussion I ended using the graphite seal
that came with the felpro kit. I believe that pontiac blocks do indeed
different sized glove where the seal fits. Hope this helps. Phil
