No, the Canadian workers ARE union - the automakers were running away
from the costs of health insurance (the Canadian taxpayers foot the
bill).

I agree with most of your posts on this, but remember this:  When GM and
Ford were shipping production (i.e. jobs) OUT of this country to Canada
and
Mexico, the Japanese and Koreans were building plants IN this country.
Same
culture, same pool of workers, but a vastly different result.  GM and
Ford
were running from the unions, period.  Now instead of having
competent/trained workers, they have an inexperienced worker and the
equivalent "8 bucks and hour" quality.  Honda builds cars right here in
Ohio
and they do more for my state than the Mexican Ford Focus ever will.  As
for
quality, for example, my buddy Dan's 2000-ish focus has a severely
rusted
oil pan; when have you EVER heard of such a thing.  That is why he won't
buy
another Ford.

Regardless, GM killing Pontiac is f'n dumb.  They should have never
taken
Obama's money.
