Oh and the some 5,000+ ford workers don't do much for Ohio and haven't for the many years they have been there? How much did the state give back to Honda for building a plant there? I know what we paid in Texas for a Toyota plant.
I too wish they had kept manufacturing jobs here and at the same time I wish they would have put the foreign automakers on the same footing as the domestics. Do you know what it costs to buy an American made car in Japan? Or Korea? Or Sweden? After you get done with the tariffs and fees designed specifically to hinder their sale? The problem is far more complex. They were running from corporate taxes, the unions, the EPA, and endless regulations. And like the other world automakers if you want to sell your products in other place you need give them a piece of the manufacturing pie.
